Eric
Eric Barrett Winter, born July 17, 1976 in La Mirada, California, most recently stars as Jason McCallister in the compelling one-hour drama series Brothers & Sisters (ABC, 2006-????), from Ken Olin (Alias) and Greg Berlanti (Everwood), which follows the California-based Walker family through the complicated maze of American life today.
Though life began for Eric in La Mirada, he spent his formative years in nearby La Puente. An only child, Eric attended Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights, where he excelled in football and volleyball. A stellar high school football career provided Eric with the opportunity to compete in the All Star Hall of Fame Game as a defensive lineman.
Winter attended UCLA, graduating with a degree in psychology. While in college, and after shedding approximately thirty pounds of football weight, a girlfriend suggested to Eric that he pursue work as a model to help pay the bills. He soon landed an agent and found himself juggling schoolwork and acting workshops with prestigious modeling assignments, many of which took him all over the world.
Eric’s most high-profile print campaign was for Tommy Hilfiger. He has appeared in numerous national commercials, including campaigns for 7-UP and Mitsubishi. His most recent commercial was with Britney Spears for her perfume called ‘Curious’.
Eric is probably best known for his portrayal of Rex Brady/DiMera in Days Of Our Lives (NBC, 1965-????), which turned out to be his big break in acting. Eric has been a cast member of Days on and off from 2002, and still continues to act on the show.
Winter landed several guest star roles on the shows Profiler (NBC, 1996-2000), The Parkers (UPN, 1999-2004), The Andy Dick Show (MTV, 2001-2003), Charmed (WB, 1998-2006), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS, 2000-????), the short-lived dramas; South Beach (CBS, 2006), Pepper Dennis (WB, 2006) and Just Legal (WB, 2005). In between those roles, he played recurring characters on Love, Inc. (UPN, 2005-2006) and Wildfire (ABC, 2005-????).
In late 2007, Winter was seen starring in Bob Lowry’s Viva Laughlin (CBS, 2007), opposite Lloyd Owen and Mädchen Amick. Unfortunately, the show was canceled after only two episodes.
Film roles, thus far, have only been made-for-tv specials, such as: Back When We Were Grownups (2004), The Magic of Ordinary Days (2005) and Break-In (2006). Winter will next be seen starring in the adventure-comedy film Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay due to hit theaters in the spring of 2008.
Winter was married to actress Allison Ford from 2001 until 2004. He is currently engaged to actress Roselyn Sanchez, his girlfriend of two years, who is best known for her portrayal of Elena Delgado on Without A Trace (CBS, 2002-????).
When not honing his acting craft, Winter spends his spare time playing basketball, hiking, snowboarding, and going to the movies; The Breakfast Club is his all time favorite film. He remains close to his father Wayne, who owns an Investigative Company, and his mother Gwen, who runs a theatrical fabric business.
