I have been a huge fan of Eric Winter for years now and have always considered opening up a fansite for him, as there is not much out there on the internet in reference to Eric, which is quite sad, seeing as how he has been professionally acting since 1999. But I just never had to time needed to put in the effort for such a large fansite.
I’ve been creating fansites for years and have come to learn that the most important thing in owning a fansite is to have the time for it. And of course, a passion for the subject. But having the time to actually work on the site and make it better with each update is extremely important because it is what keeps the visitors coming back. And when the visitors keep coming back, it feels great, because it means that people are interested in learning about the subject of the fansite. And in this case, it means that visitors enjoy Eric Winter and his talent. Which is ultimately the point of having this fansite for him in the first place.
I finally decided in late January of 2008 to take the plunge and begin work on this fansite. My hours at work had slowed down, which isn’t good for the paycheck, but it gave me more time to spend creating things I love.
With all the free time I was having, I knew I wanted to work on something new. A fun project that would keep me interested. And since I find Eric one of the most talented and super sexy actors in the business today, I knew that a fansite for him would definitely keep my interest.
I bought the domain and began work on Eric-Winter.com on January 31, 2008. My intention was to get the fansite open before February 10, just in time for Eric’s upcoming return to Brothers & Sisters, which I was so excited about. Not everything was ready, but I opened regardless.
